At Oldgate Clinic we provide anti-wrinkle treatments using Botulinum Toxin, more commonly known as botox, to soften static lines and improve the appearance of wrinkles.

We also provide PRP microneedling treatments, which help to promote collagen and elastin production and improve the appearance of the skin.

Anti-ageing treatment is prepared from botulin, it is used cosmetically to cause relaxation of the facial muscles and to prevent them from forming into wrinkles on the face for younger, more fresh looking skin. This treatment can be used on a number of different areas, more than one area can be treated at the same time.
We start the appointment with a thorough consultation to understand your requirements and suitability. Once we have a full understanding and you’re happy to proceed, we start the treatment.

Botulinum toxin begins to take effect after 3-5 days, however takes 10-14 days to reach its full effect.

Botox works by blocking the nerve signals sent to muscles to contract when we frown, smile or raise our eyebrows. When this signal is blocked, the muscle does not contract as strongly and is therefore relaxed, giving a natural, wrinkle-free result.

Results depend on the patient and the area treated, however visible results from botulinum toxin typically last 3-4 months. Whilst the botox is active, the skin is given a chance to repair and therefore many patients find their lines are improved longer term.

Botox treatments are among the safest aesthetic treatments available, however no medical treatment comes without risk. At Oldgate Clinic you will meet with Kerry, our nurse practitioner and independent prescriber, who will work with you to decide whether this is the right treatment for you.
Yes, it is possible to combine botox treatments with our PRP treatments – whilst botox relaxes the muscles and temporarily reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, PRP microneedling will promote collagen production and cell repair meaning that results are longer lasting, and skin appears brighter and fuller.
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy involves our medical practitioner taking a small sample of blood from you and extracting the platelet-rich plasma from this sample. This is then applied to the face and a microneedling device is used to create tiny pinpricks in the skin. The pinpricks, in combination with the growth factors in the PRP, stimulate the production of collagen and elastin promoting firmer, smoother skin and a more radiant complexion.

PRP microneedling promotes collagen and elastin production and helps improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It can also be used to improve the appearance of acne scarring, surgical scars, enlarged pores, stretch marks and pigmentation issues, as well as improving general skin condition.

Your initial consultation will take around 20 minutes, with treatment times ranging from 30-60 minutes depending on your requirements. Included in the cost of your treatment is a further review appointment 2 weeks after your treatment, at which time we will review your results and ensure you are happy with the outcome.
